I am a little behind on blogging - the holiday and going back to work threw me off I guess. Here are a few photos from the Crandall Classic from last week.
As of right now, this seems to be the effect basketball has on William...or is it just the calming effect of Ya ya?

Basketball season is here. Yesterday Crandall played the first official games of the season against Canton. Jonathan of course was very excited. He has a new team this year, and they played well, starting off the season with a win. The varsity boys won as well, and the varsity girls put up a good fight, losing by two in a nail-biting finish.
This was also William's (you knew I had to talk about him somewhere) first basketball game. I was a little nervous as we had arranged for some of the parents to watch him while I took photos and he is sometimes a little fussy in the evenings. However, he slept almost the entire time. I was shocked. I also have to say, Jonathan and I are definitely grateful for the community we've found here at Crandall. This is the first time we've been at a school more than one year since we've been married, and the community here is really amazing. There were quite a few parents who were more than willing to help out with William while I was a shutterbug down on the court and it was really nice to know that we had many people we could count on (and trust!) to help us out. Anyhoo, here are a few shots from the games. If you want to see all the photos from yesterday, I should have them up by the end of this weekend at www.emilyalexander.photoreflect.com.

I've been trying to buy a new lens for a couple months. I've been going back and forth between the 24mm 1.2 and the 16-35mm 2.8. I FINALLY decided on the 16-35 and it arrived this past Friday. I haven't had a chance to try it out until today, but here are a few shots from my "playing" today.
Our dogs, Rowdy....
Today we attempted to take our annual Christmas card/family photo. I say attempted because it didn't really work. Have you ever tried to take a picture with an infant and two dogs with no one actually behind the camera to get their attention? Yeah...it doesn't really work. Ever the optimist however, I decided to take on the task. Needless to say, we didn't really get anything usable, but it did make for some funny pictures. (watch as Jonathan's expression gets more and more irritated as the series goes on...)
