New William Pics

Today is the first real day I've had of no work. Yeah, we were off yesterday, but we spent the whole day away from home so it didn't seem like it was "off". I had a whole list of things I wanted to get done, but instead, I just enjoyed my time with William (with camera in hand of course) and it was great.

I say this all the time, but he is so cute!!

Will you look at this? Good Lord, we are in trouble!!

Sienna and Amy's Birthday Dinner

I know that I titled this Sienna and Amy's birthday dinner, but you will not see any photos of Amy.....sorry Amy. She actually was there, I promise! For those of you who don't know, Amy is Jonathan's sister. When we moved to Rome, she went with us, but when we moved back to the States, she stayed, and is still living there. She got into town for Christmas Tuesday evening. She and our niece Sienna share a birthday, so it was the first time the whole Alexander family has been together since this past summer. This is the first year Sienna has understood the concept of presents and she was really cute about it. She would finish opening one, look at it for a bit and then say "More presents!"

Here is what was left of dessert. I'm not sure exactly what it was besides ice cream, but it was good.

This book is actually a gift for William from Amy. It is the story of Noah's Ark in Italian.

One More Time

Jonathan's team played Athens for the third and last time this past Tuesday and won again. Yea! Here are a few pics.

Matt

Meet Matt. He is my first senior of the class of '08. We had his session today and we sure were lucky with the weather! It's been cold and cloudy, but today it was not so cold and sunny skies. It was a great day to shoot and I think we got some really good pictures. Matt is a drama kid like I was in high school, so he takes direction well and is quite photogenic as you can see.

My brother and sister-in-law Christopher and Calah gave me a gift certificate awhile ago and I bought a reflector with it. This is the first session I've had since I bought it and I was itching to try it out. I LOVE it!! I think it made such a difference in the shots and I can't wait to use it again!!!

Matt brought his friend Rachel along. I love this picture of the two of them.

Check Up

William had his two month check up today and his first round of shots :( The shots weren't fun for anyone, but he did get measured and weighed and he is 25 inches long and weighs 13.13 pounds. He is in the 95th percentile for height, so if he keeps it up for the next 15-20 years, Jonathan will have that NBA height he's looking for!

Another One

Jonathan's team won their second championship today in a tournament in Athens. They actually ended up playing the same team they played last weekend in the championship game and won by five in another close game. They were neck and neck again the whole time, but again Jonathan's team pulled through. They have a really good dynamic as a team. Apart from being talented, they play well together and seem to really get along well which I'm sure is a big factor in their being so successful. I was also really impressed by the sportsmanship on both teams, Athens and Crandall, during this game. They were both very classy and that's good to see because it doesn't always happen that way!!

Champions

Jonathan won his first championship as a basketball coach this Saturday in a very close game against Athens. The whole game was intense with both teams neck and neck the whole way, but his kids fought hard and pulled it out in the end!! Yea!!

Thanksgiving

We went to my Bobi & Dodi's (Grandma and Grandpa in Czech) in Oklahoma for Thanksgiving again this year. This was the first time my family (outside of our immediate families) was able to meet William, so I think we were all excited. It was also our dog Tino's first trip to the farm. Of course he loved it, but he was VERY wary of the cows. The first morning we were there Jonathan, Dodi, Tino, and my parents' dog, Blanche, went out to feed the cows. Tino was so intent on playing with Blanche that he didn't even notice the bull until he was about ten feet away and then he decided he was in trouble. His reaction was pretty funny;

...hiding behind Jonathan & Dodi.....

...if Blanche can get that close, then so can he...

When my sister and I were little, we used to lay on my dad's chest like this. William wasn't exactly in the mood at the moment though.

All bundled up to go on a walk....it was COLD. The day after Thanksgiving it was 15 degrees when we got up!!

My aunt, uncle, cousin, and her daughter Sara came to the farm too. They came the night before we left, so we didn't have too much time with them, but it was still good to see them. For seven years Sara has been the only great-grandchild, so I think this was a bit of an adjustment for her, but she seemed to do really well with the new situation. Here is a picture of the two of them. (notice the extreme contrast in demeanor)

Jonathan's brother's girlfriend Vic bought William some overalls and gave them to us the weekend before Thanksgiving. We couldn't believe it when we pulled out the blue and white striped ones because Dodi has worn blue and white striped overalls almost every day of his life that I can remember. Vic of course didn't have any idea, she just liked the overalls. They are still big on William, but we brought them anyway to show Bobi and Dodi and take some pictures. Aren't they a pair?

William with Bobi, his great-grandma...

My parents came back home with us after we left the farm to drop my mom off. I am back to work, finishing out this semester and my mom is staying with us to watch William while we are at work. My dad stayed a couple days too and tried to get in some bonding time before he had to leave.

Changing diapers is a family affair...
