Thanksgiving

Well, I'm back! We moved two weeks ago and I am just now getting internet on my computer. I must admit I've felt a bit paralyzed as almost all my work is done online! So now I am trying to catch up on my blogging, and to start off, here are some pics from my Thanksgiving (and for Amy, pics of William - patienza cara!). William and I went to Oklahoma again this year, to my grandparents' farm. My husband Jonathan, sister Allison and cousin Kathleen and their respective boyfriends were the only ones missing from our fete, so it was a good time. I always love going to the farm, and now that William is walking, it made it that much more enjoyable. I hope he will come to love that place as much as I do one day.

My cousin's daughter Sara is growing more beautiful by the day. Here she is in the sunset...

...and as a "turtle"...

William thought it was a lot of fun to play peek-a-boo with Bobi (my grandma) through her walker.

There was a lot of taste testing going on...

My parents' dog Blanche cornered a mouse in the cellar at one point...

No self-respecting Czech Thanksgiving is complete without knedlyki e zedli (saurkraut and dumplings, yum)!

Bobi used to always have homemade kolaches ready for us whenever we would come to visit. It is getting too difficult for her to make them now, so we decided to try our hands at it under her supervision...it was definitely a group effort!

That red earth...

Fixing stuff...

William in the combine tire...

The finished kolaches...they did NOT last long!!

Okay.. I'm hooked. As though i needed another blog to follow. I saw the link to you from Kristin B. and hopped over.
1. Beautiful pictures.
2. Europe? I lived there for over 5 years and miss it sometimes with a wild abandon...
3. Then I saw this post and thought..hmmm.. that looks like knedliky! And the kolaches look vyborne!

That closed the deal. Looks like I'll be following your blog now!
(I was in prague for those 5 years.)
Getting to hear randomly about a babicka and zeli or buchty along with beautiful photos is pretty stellar.
