Sister Josephine - First Vows

This post was difficult to create, mainly because I wanted to post almost every picture I had taken from the day.  A few weeks ago our dear friend Sister Josephine took her First Vows in Chicago to become a nun  with the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth.  Now if you aren't familiar with this ceremony, it is a BIG DEAL - like a wedding.  There were so many family and friends and sisters there, and (I know this sounds a little cliche but I'm going to say it because it's true) it was a day filled with love and joy.  I have rarely seen a person more completely joyful and peaceful with what they have chosen to do with their lives than Sister Josephine.  It was a truly beautiful day, and I was so grateful to be a part of it.

Now, if you know Sister Josephine, I'm sure you've seen this face before.  I found it fitting that it was literally the first picture I took of her from the day.

Sister Josephine had been living in Chicago for two years when we saw her.  Because I was there early, I got to see some of the interaction between her and the other sisters.  They really are like a family in the way they took care of her, fussing over her and making sure she was ready.

I love this moment right before the ceremony starts.

 Look out, world.
